St. Stephen's is a community called by Christ through the Holy Spirit
to give thanks to God in weekly common worship
to be faithful stewards of the gifts and resources entrusted to us
to be bearers of God's healing and reconciling love
Sunday Service 11:00 AM
St. Stephen's is a small congregation committed to the ministry of all the baptized with a focus on ministries of social justice. We are involved in a number of outreach ministries and in several ecumenical partnerships. Members are actively involved in diocesan as well as congregational life. We have a history of strong lay leadership, a sense of independence and a vision for the future. Our corporate life is grounded in the Eucharist and the use of both the Book of Common Prayer and contemporary liturgies enhanced by a variety of music. We welcome all those with whom we can share the transforming influence of a Gospel of love and inclusiveness.
The lawn on the west side the church building includes an outdoor labyrinth constructed by members of the congregation and friends over the course of two summers. The labyrinth is available to anyone who would like to use it as a place for prayer and reflection and a means for spiritual development.
As ambassadors for Christ, we are dedicated to ministries in both the local and global communities. In the Fargo-Moorhead community, we currently serve meals regularly at the Salvation Army and Churches United for the Homeless. We have a commitment to the work of Habitat for Humanity and actively support achievement of the Millennium Development Goals through such national/international efforts as the Heifer Project, Episcopal Relief and Development, and Nets for Life.
We are also an Integrity Partner congregation. Integrity is a group of Episcopalians whose mission is “to be the witness of the lesbian and gay community in the Episcopal Church and of the Episcopal Church in the lesbian and gay community.”
